Adam Shekleton was born in Killingly, CT, and currently resides in Lowell, MA as the Director of Bands at Westford Academy. There he teaches multiple performing ensembles and elective music courses.
Mr. Shekleton completed his Bachelor's degree in Music Education at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he concentrated in percussion studies under Ayano Kataoka, Thom Hannum, Eduardo Leandro, and Ian Hale. He graduated from the Hartt School of Music earning a Master's degree in Music Education with a concentration in Wind Conducting.
Previously Mr. Shekleton taught high school instrumental music at Randolph High School and elementary music in the Fitchburg Public Schools.
Mr. Shekleton brings a blend of conducting experience to the Randolph Community Band as he has studied conducting with Glen Adsit, Edward Cumming, David Martins, James Patrick Miller, and Lanfranco Marceletti. He has also attended several conducting symposiums and has worked with Craig Kirchoff, Jerry Luckhardt, Frank Ticheli, and the late Michael Colgrass.
